OUR STORY

Family-run. Rooted in San Francisco. Preserving vintage since 2010.

Our beginnings on Valencia Street

Afterlife began with siblings Luke and Danielle Teller and a lifelong habit of searching thrift stores and flea markets for rock tees and garments. In 2010, we opened on Valencia Street in San Francisco’s Mission District.

Music from the start

Music has been part of Afterlife from the start. Ty Segall played our opening night, and the shop went on to host after-hours performances by artists, musicians and comedians. We even pressed a few records: 7-inches by White Fence and POW!

A family affair

Our mom, Pam, joined us in 2013 after a 30-year career as a paralegal. Afterlife is still owned and run by just the three of us.

Pieces with a past

Our collection follows our obsessions, from rare vintage rock tees, true vintage and Edwardian-era fashion to fine art, collectibles and curiosities.

Afterlife Collection

Alongside our vintage finds, we created Afterlife Collection, our small clothing line made in the USA.

Preserving history

We see ourselves as caretakers as much as sellers. We document our finds to help preserve their history and highlight the craftsmanship and fabrics behind them. Those materials and skills are getting harder to find, and we believe they deserve to be seen, worn and remembered.

Visit Afterlife

In 2021, we moved from 988 Valencia to 541 Valencia and partnered with Zuela Vintage to create Afterlife Collective. Today, you can find Afterlife Boutique in the Collective in San Francisco, online, and at our private East Bay showroom by appointment.
